Frequently asked questions
Which service should I choose?
The $149 PHP Security Check covers your PHP setup and security settings. Choose the $349 service if you also want us to look for signs your website was hacked. If malware has already been confirmed, ask about cleanup. You can contact us before choosing a service.
Do I need to know my PHP version or server settings?
No. Send us your website address and tell us who hosts it, if you know. We’ll confirm what access is needed for the work. You do not need to understand the technical details first.
What counts as one website installation?
One installed copy of WordPress, XenForo, or another PHP website. Two domain names pointing to the same copy usually count as one installation. A separate test site, old backup copy, or second installation may count separately and can still need attention. We confirm the count before starting.
Will this work with my hosting provider?
The listed security-check prices cover one standard Linux server with the access needed for the agreed work. Shared hosting, managed WordPress, containers, or unusual setups may need a different approach. Tell us who hosts your site and we’ll confirm whether the listed service fits.
Is malware cleanup included in the $349 service?
No. The $349 price includes the security check and up to two hours of targeted investigation. If we find malware, we explain the findings and provide a separate cleanup quote, starting from $499 additional. No extra work begins without your agreement.
What will I receive afterward?
A written summary explaining what we checked, what we found or changed, how we checked the results, and what you should do next. We also explain anything the review could not establish. The investigation service adds findings from the file and activity-log checks.
Can a review prove my website has never been hacked?
No. Old activity records may be missing, and a targeted review cannot check every possible issue. We explain what the available evidence shows and where there are gaps. A clean result from the checks is not a guarantee that no previous hack occurred.
Does a protective setting replace a PHP security update?
No. A settings change may reduce a particular risk, but the official security update can still be needed. We explain any remaining updates. Major PHP or website-software upgrades, compatibility fixes, and migrations need a separate quote.
Is this a subscription?
No. These are one-time services. Ongoing maintenance, monitoring, and support can be discussed separately if you need them.
